Abete backing Prandelli
With Cesare Prandelli set to put pen to paper on a two year contract extension, FIGC (Italian Football Federation) chief Giancarlo Abete has offered his support for Prandelli. The 56-year old manager took over as Italy's coach back in 2010 and led them to the final of Euro 2012.
No World Cup for Antonio Cassano?
The Parma striker has been named to Prandelli's 42-man squad that will take part in a fitness test in Florence. However, the 31-year old will not participate due to an ankle injury, putting his participation in the World Cup in jeopardy.
