There is no way to sugarcoat this World Cup, it has been one of the most disappointing tournament in half a century. The players will return home on Wednesday for a couple of weeks before heading off for pre-season training. However there is no reason why they can't go home on a back of a win.
England will look to end their disappointing World Cup on a high note against already qualified Costa Rica and Roy Hodgson has confirmed their will be plenty of changes made to the team.
From the press conference it looks as though the team will line up as follows:
GK- Ben Foster (No Forster, seriously Roy?)
DL - Luke Shaw
DR - Chris Smalling
DC- Gary Cahill
DC- Phil Jones
MC- Lampard (c)
MC- Wilshere
MR- Lallana
ML- Milner
ATM - Barkley
FW - Sturridge
I'm looking forward to seeing this team. I would have loved to have seen Wilshere start with Henderson in midfield, but I understand the sentimental reasons for Roy selecting Frank. I also would have loved to have seen Sterling instead of Milner, to make a very attacking and direct front four. However I also understand he is young and has played a lot of football this season. So all in all I'm about as excited as you could be for a game like this before heading home.
