We're in a bit of a lull between the end of the quarterfinals and the semifinals, but here's the latest news from Brazil to keep you up-to-date.

Goal from Mats Hummels send Germany to their 12th World Cup semifinals, where they will take on Brazil.

Brazil vanquished the tournament's most entertaining team in Colombia, but they paid a heavy price with Neymar being ruled out for the rest of the tournament after suffering a broken vertebra injury.

Argentina 1 - Belgium 0

An early goal from Gonzalo Higuain was the difference between the two sides, but Argentina will be without Angel Di Maria for their semifinal showdown.

Netherlands 0 - Costa Rica 0 (Netherlands win 4-3 on penalties)

Los Ticos heroically held Holland to a goalless draw, but was denied by substitute goalie Tim Krul, who came on on the last minute of extra-time.

Neymar feared worst

Following the challenge from Juan Zuniga that left Neymar with a broken vertebra, Luiz Felipe Scolari has revealed that Neymar "could not feel his legs". He will be sideline for approximately six weeks.

Zuniga apologizes for challenge

Juan Zuniga has apologized for his challenge on Neymar that ended the striker's World Cup, and insist that he does not intent to hurt Neymar.

Brazil appeals Thiago Silva's booking

Brazil has launched an appeal to have Thiago Silva's booking against Colombia to be rescinded. The yellow card he picked up against Colombia is his second means that he will miss the semifinal against Germany.

Schweinsteiger criticize 'physical' Brazil

Bastian Schweinsteiger has voiced his displeasure over Brazil's physical approach. "Some of Brazil's fouls are over the limit", add the German midfielder.

"Suarez referee" to officiate semifinal

Marco Rodriguez of Mexico, who miss the incident where Luis Suarez allegedly bit Giorgio Chielliniwill be refereeing the semifinal between Brazil vs Germany.

Sabella wants Argentina to keep going

Argentina's head coach, Alejandro Sabella has urged his side to go even further after sealing their first World Cup semifinal appearance since 1990.

"Substitution was planned" - Van Gaal

In what will be one of the most memorable moment in this World Cup, Louis van Gaal explained that bringing in Tim Krul for Jasper Cillessen with penalty shootout looming has been planned beforehand.
