Theo Walcott Ruled Out Of World Cup

Terrible news hits England ahead of the World Cup.

Clive Rose

England will be without one of its most dynamic players in Brazil as Theo Walcott has been ruled out of the World Cup. Walcott suffered an injury against Tottenham at the weekend and original thought was that it would keep the winger out for just a month.

England do have talent on the right hand side of midfield with Andros Townsend having a break-out year for England and Aaron Lennon coming into a little bit of form towards Christmas.

Even so it is a terrible blow to a side who are short of dynamic play-makers. Walcott will be out for at least 6 months with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in the knee. Walcott has experienced injury problems throughout his career and after being left out of the 2012 team, this will mark the second straight tournament Walcott will miss.

We'll have more on this in the coming days and how England are going to cope with the loss.
