Wayne Rooney

File this one under "editor got bored so made something up" bin. The Star on Sunday have revealed the names of six players Jose Mourinho would like to sign in January to strengthen his squad, one of those players is Rooney. We heard all the rumours in the Summer while Rooney was unhappy, the truth is he looks very happy right now, and he's playing some of the best football of his career. I wouldn't want to move to Chelsea where the squad is massive and you just don't know how you will gel with a team, not in a World Cup year. I can't see this happening, United will want to strengthen after their poor start, not weaken. For United fans and England fans, I hope this doesn't happen.

Wilfried Zaha

This is a rumour that will thankfully soon go away, I think it's almost guaranteed that Zaha will leave United on loan in January, and there will be a whole host of clubs interested in his services. Newcastle, Everton, Stoke, West Brom, Aston Villa, Swansea and Cardiff are all monitoring the youngster according to the Daily Telegraph. It's not a surprise that he will be moving on loan after failing to force his way into the starting line-up at United, a little time away where he can play some football and regain any lost confidence is a good thing for United and for England. He's still a talented youngster, he just needs to be playing regular football.

Jermaine Defoe

According to the Mirror, Jermaine Defoe has been persuaded to join the MLS franchise in Toronto after a phone conversation with rapper Drake. Drake is an ambassador for the franchise and Defoe is struggling to get back into the Spurs squad this season despite them struggling for goals. Personally I think he should hold off on this move until at least the summer, he still has a lot to give in the EPL and he is a proven goal-scorer, another team will take a chance on him and that way he'll still be in consideration for an England World Cup spot. Beckham moves to the MLS too young, I don't want to see Defoe do the same thing.
