The Weeks English Transfer Rumours: Zaha, Sterling, Berahino edition

New, 4 comments

The January transfer window is just over a month away, so it's time to start monitoring the annoying rumours.

Clive Brunskill

Most rumours that come from the main stream media are complete garbage, how many players have the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United been linked with? it really is endless. However saying that, from here on our we are going to be keeping track of all the rumours into January and throughout.

Wilfried Zaha

I think it's innevitable and accepted that Zaha will be moving out on loan in January, after making just one appearances for United following his summer move from Crystal Palace he really needs some consistent first team football. However where will he go? The Daily Star seems to think that he could well make a move to Cardiff, but with Cardiff facing the relegation battle do you really want a player who knows he'll be off in the summer, is that the guy who's going to go the extra mile, put his foot into a heavy challenge? he certainly would add a little quality however, something that Cardiff are severely lacking.

Where as the Mirror suggest that Newcastle are very interested, along with Stoke and West Brom, Everton would only get into the mix if they could take him on a permanent deal, and that just isn't happening.

Raheem Sterling

It's The Mirror again that have the story on Sterling. The exciting young English/Liverpool winger may be allowed to leave the club in January on loan to gain important first team football. Despite featuring heavily for Liverpool last season, Sterling has been on the fringe lately and that is set to continue as Rodgers elects to play Coutinho, Henderson and Suarez behind striker Sturridge. No clubs are mentioned specially, but I imagine a few Premier League clubs will be clambering to secure the signature of one of the most exciting English youngsters.

Saido Berahino

Talk about flavour of the month. Berahino must have featured in 5 or 6 articles here at TLR and here he is again. Once more it is The Mirror who are suggesting that Berahino is being monitored by big spending French outfit Monaco. Arsenal and Everton are the other two clubs mentioned as being interested, but the most shocking revelation in this article? the confirmation that currently Berahino is on just £850 a week. I say just, I would love to be on that wage, but for a Premier League footballer scoring goals at Old Trafford, that is shocking.

If he does move in January, and I don't really think he should. I hope it's to Everton. I don't want him going to Monaco because I think he'll be largely forgotten and I wouldn't like to see him at Arsenal because I think he would rot on the bench.
