Yesterday it was confirmed that England would be without Michael Carrick and Danny Welbeck for their upcoming friendlies against Chile and Germany. However there was more bad news for England today as both Steven Gerrard and Kyle Walker were ruled out for Friday's game against Chile.
Gerrard aggravated a hip injury in Liverpool's demolition of Fulham on Saturday and Kyle Walker missed training today due to an unknown minor niggle.
With Lampard not feeling well (although training) and Arsenal's Jack Wilshere also unfit thanks to an ankle injury, it means Lallana may get a starting spot alongside captain Frank Lampard for the game against the South Americans on Friday.
Kyle Walker's absence will present a great opportunity for either Liverpool man Glen Johnson or United defender Chris Smalling to cement their claim for a spot in Brazil.
