Roy Hodgson is not afraid to make big decisions in big games, if the rumours are true.
Tonight could see the first full international appearance of Andros Townsend on the right-hand side of midfield. Many believed it would be James Milner taking his reliable role on the right hand -side of midfield however Townsend will offer more pace and more a more direct style of football.
The Tottenham midfielder has never played for the senior side before, but is expected to line up on the right-hand side of midfield for the World Cup qualifier at Wembley.
Danny Welbeck is expected to start on the left, with Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard in the middle. Daniel Sturridge will partner Wayne Rooney in attack.
Some won't like the fact that Hodgson is experimenting with the line-up ahead of such a crucial qualifier. Milner will do a job for you, if you are away from home and you want a reliable player then Millner is your man. However if you are experimenting with an exciting player like Townsend, make sure it's at home.
Townsend was arguably QPR's best player last season, and he has performed outstandingly for Tottenham this season. This is the perfect example of a player getting picked on merit and performance.
